Our Psychiatric Philosophy

At Dr. Wind & Associates, we believe that effective psychiatric care combines compassionate understanding with personalized treatment plans, helping patients achieve meaningful mental wellness.

Thomas Wind, D.O. – Board Certified, Child/Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist

As a doctor of Osteopathy as well as a Board Certified Child/Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist, Dr. Wind looks at the whole person, not just at diagnostic tests. Although other doctors often seek his advice on medication management for their patients, Dr. Wind also realizes the importance of behavioral, therapeutic, genetic and nutritional/supplemental approaches to treating patients. He knows that each patient is an individual connected to a family and a larger community, and he takes this into consideration in his treatment.

He treats behavioral, developmental, emotional and mental health disorders affecting children, adolescents and adults.

In his conveniently-located Media PA office, Dr. Wind offers a range of mental health services including assessments, evaluations, consultations, medication management (including genetic testing),  and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Wind gives every patient the utmost in personalized confidential care and treatment. His services are available by appointment in his Media office.

Dr. Wind is available to speak to Parent and Advocate Groups regarding mental health disorders and treatment options.

Zechariah Thompson

We are excited to announce we have added a gifted nurse practitioner to our practice.  Zechariah Thompson is a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner.  His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. He has had five years of experience as a Registered Nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia which has been instrumental in his preparation to provide care to individuals across the lifespan. He is accepting patients from early childhood to 55 years of age, and welcomes patients who are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

In his approach to patient care, he prioritizes warmth, approachability, and a nonjudgmental attitude.  He cultivates a respectful environment where patients will feel empowered to openly discuss their concerns.

He will provide a comprehensive range of services including thorough psychiatric evaluations, accurate diagnoses, and individualized, integrated management of mental health concerns with a focus on medication management.

Zech looks forward to working with new as well as established patients.  He wants new patients to know “Our patient journey will begin with a comprehensive assessment, followed by an in-depth discussion of treatment options thoughtfully selected to suit your unique needs. We maintain ongoing support, with follow-up appointments varying from weekly check-ins to intervals as long as once every three months. As a dedicated member of Wind Associates, I am eager to collaborate closely with Dr. Wind, Dr. Levy and Karen to provide the highest standards of evidence-based mental health care.”

Karen, Front Office Manager

Karen, the front office manager, has been with the practice for over twenty years.  Her warm, compassionate and vibrant personality has endeared her to everyone who comes in contact with the office.  Karen has a wide range of experience in the medical field.  She worked in emergency rooms, and in dual diagnosis facilities before joining our team.
